About OBCR

Rowing is a rigorous sport that fosters a unique sense of camaraderie and teamwork. We strive to provide programs in the spirit of collaboration that reflect our values, personal fitness, and our strong commitment to the community here on Long Island.

Who We Are

Oyster Bay Community Rowing (OBCR) is a 501(c)(3) designated charitable nonprofit public charity organization based in Oyster Bay, NY and was founded in 2017 by a group of volunteers passionate about the spirit of community and the sport of rowing. We manage the programs of several local school district rowing teams, for which participants attending ANY school, grades 7-12, are eligible to join. A collegiate and adult rowing program are also offered.

What We Do

The purpose of Oyster Bay Community Rowing is to educate the community about the sport of rowing with the aim to grow and enhance the sport. The organization shall provide the environment and programs for the athletes and citizens of Oyster Bay where they can participate in this life-long sport with access to the calm waters of our bay. The organization also hosts local regattas and participates in local, national and international amateur sports competitions in the sport of rowing throughout the year.
