Building a Home with Habitat for Humanity

Building a Home with Habitat for Humanity

OBCR athletes build another HABITAT FOR HUMANITY home for a deserving family on Long Island!

This was a 3D printed house and News12 was present with the recipient family to see it being built by our dedicated group.  We are proud of their volunteer efforts with Habitat for Humanity, a global organization that served more than 13.4 million people last year in over 70 countries by building stability and reliance through shelter.

OBCR has been proud to support  Habitat over the years and looks forward to future projects.

Fun Fact:  Jonathon Reckford, CEO,  is an alum rower from the UNC Chapel Hill Crew team (the alma mater college team of our current board chair).

OBCR Volunteers with Habitat for Humanity

Recently, our varsity rowers worked with Habitat for Humanity to construct an affordable housing unit in Shirley. There was much to do, much to learn, and it was a worthwhile experience once that we will certainly be repeating.
